Fan of The Sims since the original came out, and playing Sim related games since SimCity2k.
EA bums me out... die-hard Sims fan anyway!
You'll see a lot of Flight Rising... Same username.
This is also the game blog to my JustAngelGrey main blog...
In the beginning of 2011 my sister and I took my mom to the hospital. She was there for about 20 days and didn’t leave while alive. We lost our mom, and my sister had already lost her dad, which… is besides the point.
My mom _loved_ Kauai. Like… more than anything. While she was in the hospital we took one of her printed pictures from there and pinned it in her room. The last thing she said to us was “I want to go home” and we thought she meant her house but she shook her head and pointed, weakly, at the picture.
A couple years before this she paid for us to fly out to Kauai and spend the weekend with her.
It was beautiful. And she made her back yard as close to that place as she could. A lot of her plants live here with me, mostly plumeria.
In the sims one of my favorite things is landscaping, and one of the things I’m most excited about (aside from the views, I mean… holy bleep) are all the new plants I can make use of.
Sorry about all the rambling but this is hitting me weirdly hard this weekend and I felt like sharing.
My mom is why I want this expansion pack.
Putting my sad babbling on my old sims blog because I’m feeling it again today
and your desktop died… and you were told by loads of people it was either your power supply or motherboard and you took your power supply in to get tested and it supposedly works fine (but they wouldn’t know if it spikes or anything)… Would you… A) Get a used replacement old motherboard and hope it works ok B) Get a new power supply and hope it really was the power supply after all (which… if it was wouldn’t it have toasted the mb anyway? or… I dunno) C) Try to get funds together to get a new mb/processor/ram and kinda start fresh
My current parts are hand-me-downs and are about 8 years old. It runs the sims ok, struggles a smidge with my addiction to CC/mods but really struggles with Cities Skylines and a bit with large maps of Civ.
Sharing on this blog from my new one since this has more followers.
It is monsoon season in the desert, Thundercrack Carnivale on FR, and word on the wing is that we’re about to audience an epic Wind vs. Water battle. So the most natural conclusion is to have a storm raffle!
Alas, Sim doesn’t have enough space to shelter all her G1s from the weather and I need an excuse to anal-retentively organize things, so you’re being bribed to give those poor soggy dragons a new storm-safe home.
Storm Watch
The raffle will run until August 10th at 23:59 FR.
You will have 24 hours to check your tickets, and we will start drawing prizes on August 12th.
You can only win once, and all winners will be selected using random.org.
Be respectful to us and your fellow participants! We’re all actual people on the other side of the screen.
Main prizes include a battle dragon stone pack (elim included!), unlockable events including a nature sprite and tonsss more prize choices!
Just started it last night, still needs a lot of work but I hope to start getting stuff on it ASAP! There’s a lot of sims news/stuff to re-post, cc I need to try working on again, etc.
City Living has some interesting build mode items. Interesting-good by the way, not bad by any means. However, the modern windows were only limited to the medium and tall wall heights, and only in 3 tile versions. That will just not do. That size is far from versatile so I had to go about making some addons for the items so they were more usable then in their current state. After much troubleshooting, they are done and ready to enjoy.
I was also asked if I would consider fixing the blue glass, which I have also done, so if the blue tint was stopping you from using these windows, fear no more! This was done by creating a default replacement for those textures. If you like the blue glass, feel free to delete the package file called “PC-TS4-CLBlueGlassDR” which will keep all windows like the way Maxis designed them.
Do note: all textures are linked to the original game files. This keeps file size down as there is no point duplicating the same textures.
Details:
Requires City Living
10 original colour options for windows and 9 for doors
cost and polycount for “Frost You House” doors: - 2 Tile short/medium/tall: $440/$465/$490, 396/396/496 polys - 3 Tile short: $445, 396 polys
custom thumbnails
found in respective wall height door and window sections of build mode
The archive contains the package file and style images inside a folder. Extract the archive using winRAR or winZIP and drop the package file in your mods folder and look for it in-game.
Updated 21/01/2017: With the toddler patch breaking a few things, I have taken the opportunity and gone through and updated my sets to fix issues and generally improve on some things. Here, I have updated all seating with new tags and toddler rigs, redid floor lamp, as well as redo surface slots. Items placed on objects that have slots redone will need to be placed again from the family inventory.
Update 17/07/2016: I have updated this set to work with the latest July patch where changes were made to the lighting tuning. You can find the new downloads below, as well as a link to the individual items.
I know it may seem that I hold back these sets as followers gifts, but it seems to take me that long to finish one of these projects. This set is a bit different from my previous ones. It was designed to take a bit of the tedium out of creating “object sets” with multiple matching items and designed to go together. This set is something that can be mixed and matched with other sets, hence the name “eclectic”. The randomness of the items, but how they all come together is what I aimed for, and I think I succeeded. It is also a smaller size (both file and item count) which was nice after completing Atwood living. That set was HUGE! I have also included some retro inspired wallpapers to accompany this set. We really do need more wallpapers, so go fourth and decorate with these new pretties.

Update: 17/07/2016: I spotted a small mesh issue this morning and my perfectionist self couldn’t unsee it, so i updated the files again. Its just a seam on the tea light candles but its fixed now.
Update 16/07/2016: Updated The cantilever floor lamp, and tealight candles for the July patch. They can now be adjusted per room. I also tweaked Ferntastic potted fern, Gloss Side Table, Wood Geometric Table so the shadow group doesn’t glitch with the floor, and changed out a missed thumbnail with the three seat sofa i missed last update.
Update 7/03/2016: just a small update for this set, nothing relating to cc fixes, just gave the items easier-to-find thumbnails. I know that was one thing a lot of people commented on so here it is. So if you want the content easier to find, please re-download.
Another milestone, another set of furniture to share. I think a big area that needed my style touch is the living room. Most of the sofas are either blah or ew to me, so I decided to make some for myself. It was supposed to be small, but again I failed miserably at that. 26 items is my biggest set yet, it is also the largest too. Please note this set is over 90MB. The reason for this is the items with the largest texture maps (the sofas, ottoman, and armchairs) have 28-48 textures, which in turn make the file size extra large. There is nothing I can do about that though.
For the last couple years I’ve been a ridiculous rescuer of gen one dragons on flight rising… It’s so bad that I have rescued and saved dragons in I dunno… 6 different friends’ lairs?
Originally my FRpartner and I were gonna do a hatchery with gened well priced gen2s for people, but the market hardcore tanked quite awhile ago plus no one really cares about gen2 unless it’s imps (I’m mostly one of these people, and love all my gen2 imps…) so I have a spreadsheet now… of gen1s.
I have a tab of “yes please, adopt these”, “maybe adopt these?” and “keepers”. The list of keepers? Doesn’t even have all our keepers on it.
I’m seriously the crazy cat lady from The Simpsons but with gen1s. I need to fix this.
I’ve done a couple rounds of “gen1 blind box”/grabbags (25g/t equiv. gets a dragon, possibly with genes or 7dig, etc and a couple random things like familiar or apparel, etc) a little while ago and that went fairly well, and as far as I saw only one of the 30+ that went out got exalted (which was sad, low 7 digit w/ decent colors…) but this time I wanna do something different.
I’m thinking of doing a blind box raffle. Each gen1 adopted is a ticket (maybe also have tickets avail. for a lower cost) and have some prize tiers, I mean, I don’t want to give up a gene scroll if only 5 dragons get adopted, you know?
So long story short…
I know most folks don’t care much about gen 1s anymore BUT if I did such a raffle (adoption = ticket, prize tiers/levels unlocked) would you be interested?
